Today I am supposed to share with you what a day in my life looks like. I've chosen to essentially live blog my day. I will update this page throughout the day to give you a glimpse into my life.
The day started at 6:45 when the alarm on my iPhone went off. I hit snooze and rolled over on my bed. Then I checked my email on my phone (bad habit).
I got out if bed when the alarm went off again at 6:54 and let Lucy out for her potty break. It's pretty convenient to have a door that lets out into the backyard in my bedroom.
Warm lemon water, shower, get dressed, eat breakfast. I pretty much always eat cereal, and lately I've been needing coffee. Hair, makeup, then off to work I go!
The commute was not great this morning (40 minutes), but the music was awesome! You can bet I shouted out the deh-di-let-da's at the top of my lungs on "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles).

Work tends to be same old, same old- I get revisions to orders, I enter those revisions. Paperwork, computer.
The yellow light of death. Printer keeps printing, I go batty. I'm sound-sensitive today.
Lunch break involved a trip to Trader Joe's.
Snack break with tea. I have to eat every 2-3 hours.
After work, I headed into downtown Portland for dinner with my family. I always have dinner with my parents (either one or both of them) on Wednesday evenings, but today I got a special treat and was joined by my sister-in-law and her two boys. There are so many awesome restaurants in Portland, so I pick a new place every week. This week: The Picnic House. Sadly, I was so busy having fun with family that I did not take any food pictures (I was also starving). So, here are the pics I did manage to get:
After dinner, I enjoyed my short stroll through the South Park Blocks, and headed home with some peonies from my mom's garden, which have now taken their place in my bathroom. Nothing livens up a utilitarian space like some pretty pink peonies.
Seriously, my favorite.
Finally, the day ended with a phone call and some sister/nephew time. I live with my sister, Sarah, and her husband and one-year-old, Fox. Fox and I have a special bond- I was there helping my sister in labor when he was born. He is such a bundle of energy, and tonight was no different. He loves to dance, so when Sarah and Fox came downstairs to my living room, we started a dance party with the ABBA station on Pandora. Fox loves ABBA. There was a lot of laughter and squealing. I had video, but I got too frustrated with my crappy Windows editing program (no, I do not want it to be a wlmp file, jerk!).
So then I blogged, like I do at the end of my day, and then I will wash my face, brush my teeth, take out the contacts and head to bed. Good night, y'all.

YES! To 500 Miles (which I listen to nearly every day, too) and all those other songs! I need to follow you on Spotify, pronto.
