This week was a pretty good week, despite getting some kind of stomach bug, and here's what made it fabulous:
I hiked 12 miles, yo! And it ended with ice cream!
I got these beautiful dahlias from the farmer's market.
I finished reading Sarah's Key, which was just ok, and now I've moved on to Rules in Civility, which has me wanting to time travel to New York City in 1938.
I met up with a cool friend for the Waterfront Blues Festival. The zydeco had us both wanting to head for the South.
Target paid me $2 AND gave me a $25 gift card for trading in my iPhone 4 for a new iPhone 5. Say what?!
Lucy makes every week a fabulous one.
My boss told me that she's glad I'm so "with it." Positive reinforcement always feels good.
I went for another beautiful run along the waterfront. Always breathtaking.
I entered to win free tickets to the International Beer Festival through Yelp and guess what? I won! Can't wait to check it out next weekend.
Well friends, what made your week a fabulous one? I'd love to hear from you in the comments below!

That dipped cone looks so good, I've given up ice cream this month and am salivating. :) Happy Friday, where are you hiking this weekend?
ReplyDeletealways celebrate with dessert after a hike is what i always say :) happy friday!
ReplyDeleteYOU WON?! congratulations! that sounds like a fun event to win tickets to, if I do say so myself. and the picture of your chocolate-dipped DQ ice cream cone is making me want one. oh if only I didn't have a weakness for sweets. have an amazing weekend!!! xo!! :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I couldn't believe it! I think the contest wasn't very well known (I found out through an email from Yelp), so my odds were pretty good. I have a weakness for sweets, but there is something about soft serve after a hike that is just so satisfying. I hope you have a fabulous weekend! :)
DeleteThere's a really good vibe to this post lady :) You sound so happy and content (despite that stomach bug!!)
ReplyDeleteThis week would have been too good if I hadn't had that bug, but I take it as a sign that I needed to pause for a moment. I hope you have a great weekend! :)
DeleteOkay, I can't get over the fact that you HIKED 12 miles -- wow! WALKING 12 miles is hard, but hiking... I'm impressed! And I love hiking, but that's pretty tough. Yay for you! I bet you felt great afterwards. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week, Rachel! Except for the tummy bug. Glad you're feeling well!
I know- I can't believe it either! I felt great for most of it, and my lungs felt so incredibly refreshed afterward, but I sure had a hard time walking once I got home- my feet and ankles were so tired.
DeleteThank you- it was pretty great! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)
Wow! Sounds like you had a great week, lady. So jealous that you got to go hiking! I love it too but it's way too hot here in Arizona right now. Just got back from Cali on Sunday and am already dreaming again! Good job though- wow! 12 miles!!! You earned that ice-cream! Glad you're feeling better and have a great weekend! x
ReplyDeleteI did! Oof- I lived in Arizona for one year and that was enough- hiking right now would be near suicide. I hope you had a great time in Cali! Have a great weekend! :)
DeleteOooh, winning stuff and getting money back from Target? Sweet!!! I didn't know they gave you money for trading phones...?!
ReplyDeleteRight?! I feel like I lucked out this week. Target was doing a trade-in deal this week, and it was advertised in the paper, but in small print, so not many people knew about it. I only heard from a friend who traded hers in. Such a sweet deal!
Deletei wish target would pay me to shop there! don't mind if i do :) also, rules of civility is PERFECT.
ReplyDeletestopping by from nectar collective.
DIPPED CONE!!! Haven't had one of those in forever! Glad you're feeling better. Enjoy the weekend, lady!
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds like a fantastic week! Those dahlias are gorgeous.

It was and they were! It was so hard to choose from all of the beautiful colors of dahlias at the market...
DeleteAhhh it sounds like you had an awesome week! Congrats on winning the tickets to the Beer Festival -- can't wait to hear about that! And whoa... 12 mile hike? Look at you! And I looooooove positive reinforcement... tough love doesn't work on me quite the same way that flattery does... :) Hearing nice things inspires so much inside of me... and I'm guessing that you're similar??? :) YAY!
